NOTD: Easter Eggs and Jelly Beans

I'm late! I'm late! I know Easter was well over a week ago, but what a week this has been for me! Juggling my health issues and doctor appointments was more nerve-wracking than juggling fresh eggs. I've pretty much felt like the poor White Rabbit!

BUT! I did indeed do an Easter manicure. At first, I was just going to do skittles--bright colors on my left, pastels on my right. That's when my husband decided they looked like jelly beans and Easter eggs LOL. But something was missing, so I got out a couple of dotting tools and voila! (please excuse my nubbins).

(Above pictures courtesy of my daughter's iPhone *jealous*)

I also decided to do accent nails on each. In all, I used 15 colors! I think that's a record for me--and really, much harder than coordinating fabrics for a quilt. The dots on each finger are the color from my other hand. For my first dotty mani, I think they came out ok! And yes, I think this many colors can only be used certain times of the year--it looked so fun, but that's alot of color!

And now, for the polishes themselves!

L-R: Butter London Trout Pout, Zoya Wednesday, Sinful Colors Cinderella (LOVE), Pro Nail Care neutral (gift from an OL friend), Zoya Pippa, Julep Charlotte, Girly Bits Hippity Hop (SO DARN PRETTY!), Julep Leah, Julep Sofia (pretty sheer green sparkle)

L-R: Sephora + Pantone Tangerine Tango (OMG *dies*), Julep Emilie, Cult Nails Toxic Seaweed (SO SO PRETTY), Julep Parker (I am in love with this shade), Sephora by OPI It's My Pink scented with Betsey Johnson's Too Too (*swoon* *faint*), a-England Avalon.

About It's My Pink--I hadn't tried Too Too before, so I thought getting a bottle of the polish was a great way to sample it (and due to some weird shopping cart glitch I wound up with 3 bottles lol). It's an awesome pink too :) Let me tell you--this is one of the most heavily scented polishes EVER. Even after 2 layers of topcoat I could STILL smell it. Now this does concern me as far as a full mani since even perfumes I love can trigger my migraines. So I don't know that I would use this as a full mani, or at least be willing to take it off if it's too strong. But wow! I am so impressed! (I even got the Too Too set on Sephora that includes the purse).

Sadly, like you eventually have to with Easter Eggs, with so many layers, this mani cracked pretty quickly. I'm learning that some polishes are very picky who they are paired up with when it comes to base/topcoats because my current mani, while showing tip wear, is still going strong after 3-4 days (yes I'm ready to change and may not get this photographed).

Still this was SO much fun picking out colors and bases and a great way to try a bunch of my untried stash (which is huge. Enormous. Humongous). I'm trying out colors I never would have a year ago (Tangerine Tango, Parker, the greens). My hands shake so much I'll never have perfect nails, but I hope this mani made you smile :)

Stay Pretty!
