In addition, I got a 3 pack of buff blocks from Sephora that really do a nice job of smoothing out my nails and giving them a natural shine! I wasn't sure how much I'd like them--they are smaller than the ones I get at Target. But they fit my hand better and do a fantastic job. I don't know how long they will last but I'll definitely purchase them again.
So, I have nubbins. And I always thought that lighter colors would be best....tried that with a bunch of pinks and while it looked ok, it just didn't work. So I grabbed a few polishes I've wanted to use and I am happy to say, it looked AWESOME!

I started out with 1-2 layers of Cult Nails Spontaneous. Truly a beautiful dark purple plum with a hint of shimmer. On my accent nail, I layered it with Deborah Lippmann's Sugar Daddy--a rich gold that, to me, has a flash of plum in the shade. Over that I did a coat of Julep Brooke, a very sheer purple that didn't really change the gold of Sugar Daddy but just enhanced the purple flash. The rest of the nails I used Hare Polish Cast in Bronze.....simply STUNNING. Plum with slivers and glitter of copper. And THAT is how you rock some nubbins! Covered them all with HK Girl quick dry topcoat (so far my fave).

ReplyDeleteI always keep my nails short. I never let them get past the end of my fingertip just because I find it more comfortable for things like typing and texting. I also prefer the look of shorter nails. Plus, anytime I let them get longer, without fail, I break at least one.
